Login after registration ?? was created by ben_emo
Hi all,

1. I'm wondering if there's a simple way to enable 'login (automatically) after registration' within CB?

2. Also, is there something built-in that handles passing an arbitrary return URL for the registration-initiated login to return to, rather than either none or entering one site-wide return URL in the CB config?

3. If not, would anyone else be interested in a plugin which does these things?

I've integrated these features into the CB-Virtuemart plugin (first test version with these features just released - may have issues), and thought that they weren't really related to this plugin specifically and might be better off in their own plugin which could then be used with other components.
But also I wondered if there was a simpler way to do this; it must be a fairly common feature request but I couldn't see a way to get CB to behave in this way.

Any feedback appreciated!

Cheers,
Ben.

1. To log in automatically you need to trun off email verification, whic is unwise.

2. You can set a redirect for first login (i.e after registration) which can be set in the admin and a redirect for all logins which can be done on the login module itself.

3. They exist already :)

1. I didn't know how to enable auto-login within CB, that's great! And for this site we want to use auto-login; it's a shop so has to be as user-friendly as possible.
2&3. This bit doesn't quite offer enough functionality; I want to be able to redirect to different URL's. But I think that this function can stay within the plugin, that makes sense to me.

Cheers!

disabling email verification doesn't do anything to magically make users automatically logged in after submitted registration.....that's rubbish!

anyone else have any real ideas of how to get this to work?

tried this hack which didn't work: www.joomlapolis.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,/func,view/catid,20/id,20017/#20017

a plugin should be able to do this fairly easily.
