simple-joomla-fire what?!

Ok. So I have soent 2 days trying to get a forum up for my users. I though it should be a no brainer, publih the supposed plugin for simpleboard. It's there why not use it? I did this and clicked on the forum tab in my profile. It said the component wasn't installed.

I read tons of threads about which forum to use. It seemed Joomlaboard was the new simpleboard. Great, but I clicked on dozens of links to download it, just find that the links lead to nowhere. Then I find that Fireboard is the new Joomlaboard and is supposed to be the easiest to intergrate w/ CB.

Ok, so I installed fireboard, and the CB plugin. I set config to sync w/ CB, but I still can not get it to work. When I go to the "Forum" tag, it still says simpleboard is not installed. NO KIDDING! How in the world do I get Fireboard to be connected to the forum tab?

unpublish the plugin that came with cb.

install and publish the fireboard cb plugin.
