My home page went 500! was created by Rapunzl
I tried the new Messaging component, since it was 1.5 native. Needless to say, I couldn't get it working, so I uninstalled it. Now, my home page has disappeared with a 500 error. I'm trying to get more info but nothing is there.

The admin backend still works, and my profile link still works when typed in. I figure it has something to do with my menus but can't find it.

Help!? I don't want to set everything up again, and I know it's all still there. It just fell into a black hole.

What PHP ver do you have? Ive gotten alot of 500 errors with PHP 4 due to lack of memory with my host, upgrade to 5 and all is fine.

You might try disabling any plugins in CB you may have installed and see if that helps.

Sorry... used to the test forums and having all that in my footer. I've already tried disabling all the plugins. I also have PHP5, so that's not it. :(

You could try disabling all the modules that load onto the front page. A module fail can cause a 500 error. Do you have a module for the messenger or any integration for it anywhere?

Thanks for checking Kurt. I'm sorry I didn't post this as a moot point. I spent so much time on it that I finally gave up and redid the whole shot on rapunzl.com.

On a side note, I didn't start totally clean. I just reinstalled J!1.5.3, uninstalled the four CB component/modules and reinstalled. When I reinstalled the 3 modules, I got another 500 on the homepage. I had to reorder modules to get it to work. By that time, I was so tired I decided to sleep on it and do an entirely clean install today.

My conclusion today is that the CB login module was moved in ordering when I installed the Messaging component, but since there were no database errors and no frontend debug errors I can't say for sure. At one point, both before and after the reinstall of CB, all that showed on the home page was the login module.
