I have CB set to moderate users.

I would like to allow individuals to choose their newsletters during registration - but not be added until their profile is approved.

Is this possible?

So far I have set the YANC Plug-in access level to "Public" and selected all my newsletters to be proposed and I have the newsletters set to "Registered" - but i'm not sure if the user will be added immediately upon submitting their registration request - or only after they've been approved.

If things work like designed...

...the newsletter should be activated only after the user is approved, for newsletters selected during registration.

I have tested this at implementation time. It's nevertheless easy to recheck. Just look at the *os_newsletters_subscribers table of YaNC and look at the "confirmed" field of that user.

I have 4 or 5 users, that I had to approve via the admin end that did not get "confirmed" for the newsletter.. Looking at their db entry in phypmyadmin and in the admin end, they don't even have an email address listed... but... of course they have an email address because they had to use it to sign up... and it is there in their user information... Any ideas why this might be happening? Is it a bug.. me... or just some fluke?
Thanks!
Aaron

I'm having the same problem. The CB Yanc plugin seems to break Yanc. If I allow users to subscribe to yanc without having to register it sends a confirm email with just the actual words [CONFIRM] or [UNSUBSCRIBE] with no link to do anything. So my database is filling with unconfirmed email addresses. If they register on the site using the CB registration the confirmation works fine, however when I send an actual newsletter out it does the same thing with the Yanc fields..... they just get something like [CONTENT ID="1"] instead of the actual content. Any ideas please?

I dont get [NAME] translated in html emails..

And many, MANY, subscribers do not seem to have any email adress.. i thought yanc would pull it from the users table then..

But i've sent my first newsletter and only 30% got it. the rest, do not have any email addies listed..

Bummer..

I think we need a newsletter component that is supported and has active coders.. yanc is buggy and i dont know if anyone is working on it..

Yanc seems so unusable that I should disable the whole system.

Months go by without any news about yanc.. i dont think it is healthy to continue using yanc.. we all highly need a newsletter component that simply works.. it is not like it is not important..
