manual install for cb_captcha 1.0?

I'm having a problem getting the captcha to install, not sure where I'm going wrong. Maybe someone can shed some light on this. Searched forums but didn't see any results that pertained to me so, here goes:

joomla 1.5 (legacy on), cb 1.2 stable, captcha 1.0

Install thru cb plugin manager result:

Failed to create directory "/home/*****/public_html/*****/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbcaptcha/"

The instructions on the download page say to unpack it and view the "readme" but there's no "readme" in it. Is there a way to manually install this?

When I unpack and upload the files to components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbcaptcha/, I don't see it in the plugin manager (of either CB or Joomla). Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem, trying to install in Joomla 1.5. Error message tells me "Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package."

I think it had to do with chmodding the directory 777. I decided to go with a re-captcha plug in instead. Thanks anyway.

For the "could not find xml" problem, that's because you need to install the plug in using the CB plug in manager, not the joomla plug in manager.
