Ok Morten, that sure helps clarify! Thanks very much, and that all makes sense. We'll see what happens in the future. What I have now works fine enough.

I've added a section about subscribing to mailing list in the new user welcome message.

All the best and thanks for the work on the plugin!

I've been doing some upgrading to Joomla 1.5

No much has to change:

1. the first line (validity check) in both .php files.
2. the database connection in the function beforeUpdateUser

Furthermore I was hoping to be able to add some tab pane functionality to this (or a new) CB plugin. Just don't want to reinvent the wheel, since you guys were also working on this.

** created this posting in multiple edits since it crashed on me after doing a whole (long) posting.

I am not sure if anyone else is having this issue... however, when I enable subscribemailman and a new user subscribes, they immediately get blank screen (and no registration email). When I refresh, Joomla reports that the registration is complete and I wind up getting a registration email. When I look into the email to validate the address, I notice that the attached URL is missing its confirm code. When I disable subscribemailman, registration works properly. As far as I can tell I have entered the correct URL and password in the subscribemailman parameters.

Joomla: 1.5.9
CB: 1.2.1
Mailman: 2.1.10

Any possible insite would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I gave up on this and am using TnR Mailman component which works quite well.
No display / integration with CB but it's much smoother to manage with multiple lists
