New fields created but not being added to Database

I have created a new field under Field Management.

It is appearing on the registration and profile pages and also in the list within Field Management but this time has not been created in the backend database. I have created custom fields before which are in the database so do you have any idea why they are no longer being created? I have attempted a few times.

I have upgraded to 1.4 to see if this would resolve (was on 1.2) but no.
Have attached screen capture of the field settings.

Run CB Tools check.
Are you sure it is not in the database?
Perhaps you made a mistake - where are you looking for it?
