How Can I Disable Email Address / Username Verify?

I am using CB 1.4, and so far I am very pleased with this program. I have one question, though, regarding the Users area. When I go in to update any information in our User accounts, and click on the "Save" button, there is quite a long delay as the system tries to verify the validity of Email Address and Username. It takes at least 30 - 45 seconds each time, and it is never successful with verifying an email address.

I don't really care if this verification is done or not, I would just like it not to take so long... is there a way to disable this feature? Or do I need to do something to make it work correctly?

Hi,

I hope this is the right forum to ask the Ajax Email checking error I'm encountering.

While registration I receive an error which says "Couldn't check the email." I've been trying to fix this in the backend, but for no result. Is there a fix to this problem? Kindly share.
