General question about realisation of project

Hello!

I was told that CB is the right tool for my project. I made a joomla page and installed cb.

My intention is that ONE person, the owner of a solar company, can manage and view the realtime data of all the solar installations from his customers.
Each customer should see only the solar data of his own solar installation.

This should be done in joomla/cb. Is this possible?

If so, I think the customer can login and depending of the login name, there are some links displayed and so on.

this is the gui of the solar control site of one customer.

Is it possible that the company can see a list of all customers, when clicking at one customer, the detail sight is displayed? I hope you understand my wishes and i hope someone can help me please.

Oh. one more thing.

The solar datas are uploaded via ftp to the joomla site. Each customer should have one folder to upload solar ftp data.

Some things are doable out of the box and some require extra development.

For example: CB could be configured to produce a list of users (I guess the customers) that is viewable by website admin (the company). By clicking on a CB user list row one would be taken to the user profile of the customer.

The above is core CB - you can do it easily by experimenting with CB settings or to speed things up become an advanced subscriber and study the documentation.

The other part about each customer having their own ftp access to upload data that would then be formulated on a user profile does not exist (as far as I know) but could be developed by someone using the CB API as a CB plugin.

If the data is in the form of a file and can be viewed as a file, then perhaps you could just use the CB Gallery plugin or CB file field plugin (also available to Advanced subscribers) to allow customers to upload files directly to their profiles that admin only can see.

Is it possible to wrap a internet url to a profile tab or something?
I think, if i can integrate a external url to the profile, it would be ok for now.
or - for advantage use - I could develop a php script to display the customer datas. But should also be done in the user profile tab.

So, is it possible to integrate a url to the profile? I tried it, but it doesn´t work. The field type text and the field type web was not the right thing.

Hi. Problem solved. I use Joomla 1.6 now, which includes exact the features to protects user´s pages.
