Registration page: username from external php

Hello!

I have some PHP code running enabling new users to check for available user names. Once they have found an available user name, they will be directed to the registration page of CB.

How can I hand over the user name from my php code to the user name field on the registration page?

Any ideas? Thank you for your help,
