Registration Not Working

It's probably a simple oversight on my part, but I'm a CB newbie so I'll ask the question anyway. I just got CB 1.4 installed on Joomla 1.5.23. Everything seems to work right in the configuration - done according to the Install-new-readme.txt. However, when I try to login or register through the cb component, I get a page not found error. I checked the URL for one of the files - /component/comprofiler/registers.html (and login.html) and the files have not been created in the file system. Are these supposed to be created during the install or will I have to create them?

Upon closer inspection - the component directory doesn't even exist. The directory that is there is components - and the files aren't there either.

Figured it out. I didn't rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess before enabling Apache_mod_rewrite on the site config.
