Hi,

I have reviewed README_UPGRADE.txt in regards to the CB1.1 to 1.4 upgrade. I haven't found any mention of upgrading from a previous Joomla version.

What do you recommend as a process in this case?

My idea would be:

- copy over all Community Builder tables - this would hopefully appear to be the same as having CB uninstalled
- install 1.4 into Joomla 1.5
- replace ue_config.php (step 3b)
- follow all additional steps

Also, can I check somewhere what default plugins were in CB 1.1? I have attached a screenshot if someone wants to make a comment

Thanks for any help.

Tricky process.

I would first upgrade CB 1.1 on the Joomla 1.0 website following the described process in the CB 1.4 upgrade text file.

Make sure you backup first.

Once this process is working then you can focus on migrating from Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 as I believe there is a migration tool that does this.

Hi Nick,

thanks for the quick reply, There is a migration assistant, but to my knowledge it needs 3rd party plugins to upgrade Community Builder - see here:
docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_1.0.x_to_1.5_Stable

I couldn't find any CB migration plugin, so I assumed copying the databases would be the easiest. Isnt't that going to look the same to CB1.4 as if CB1.1 was uninstalled?

Appreciate any other detail you can provide for this.

Kind Regards,

Jochen

That's why I proposed to first upgrade to latest CB version by following the text explained process - this way the CB database will be upgraded and then you can try your process.

Hey jdaumde, I have the exact need - an ancient client site running J 1.0.13 and CB 1.1 that I'm getting ready to redesign with J 1.5 and CB 1.4.

I'm very curious how the upgrade(s) worked for you? I welcome any advise you might have on your experience.
