new user notification email

I have adjusted the default language file to add additional fields to my new user notification email. Everything works except for any fields which are generated by drop down menus. I have had this working in the past but since the upgrade to 1.7 it has not been working.

I am playing with the default language file because i cannot find this mysterious cb 1.3 english language plugin
