Hello!
I am currently in Africa, working with a non-profit organisation.
They help orphans find sponsors so they can have education and stuff.
Now, I am trying to set up an online database for them,
so there could be different logins for public, staff and sponsors.
The public can see very limited information about the already sponsored,
but all the information about the kids on the waiting list.
The sponsors get extended information about "their" kid.
And the staff can see all the information, plus add new data as it comes in.
This data includes everything from shoe sizes and photos, to school reports and fees paid.
Now, to the problem. I would want to be able to sync all this data for offline use.
The internet here is quite unstable, and it would be so much easier for the staff to just input the information into an excel-file or something similar. To have to go to the site just to find information about a specific kid is not a practical solution with 40kb/s as max connection. And to add an entire entry just for a new kid, instead of just adding a row in an excel-file, is probably beyond their computer skills.
I need this to work in a month, when I will be going back home to continue my work looking for sponsors. And the organisation could also use it so the amount of corruption might decrease.
So I am on a bit a dead-line here. Which is the reason I am trying to learn all of this really fast. I am new with databases, joomla and CB. So please bare with me for stupid questions and the like.
