Joomla 1.0 > 1.5 and CB 1.1 > 1.7

Hi all,
a customer has an old site that runs on Joomla 1.0.15 with CB 1.1.
We would like to pass it on joomla 1.5.24 for obvious reasons of compatilibity.

There are approximately 1000 members, with some custom fields, what is the best way to have a community builder function in joomla 1.5 while keeping the user base, of course ...
Can i upgrade CB directly from 1.1 to 1.7 without risks on the 1.0 version of joomla ?
Whant can I do ?

I am open to suggestions!
(I dont have access of the FTP and the database of this site...)

You need ftp access at least.

See CB 1.7.1 upgrade readme for instructions to go from 1.1 to 1.7.1.

Its not an easy task - backup first!
