Not sure if there's a module or plugin out there that does what you want or not but I would dig around the jed a bit and see.
If not you can do it yourself using a modal script. I use colorbox (just Google colorbox to find it) for most of my stuff and am pretty happy with it. It's pretty simple to use, just add the script, add the link to your script and stick &tmpl=component to the end of it, then just change that link to fire colorbox with the appropriate class. You can then style it however you want.
