Do Not Go To Login Page

On the login module, if the user clicks on "Login" before they enter their Username and Password, it takes the user to the comprofiler/login page.

Is there a way to have a pop-up message instead that says "Incorrect username or password. Please try again."? Or have the message appear at the top of the module instead of going to another page?

I would prefer if the user stays on the page and not be to be taken to another page.
