Importing Users of another database

Hi all,

Could somebody tell me how to import users from one database to another?
For instance: My old user database on phpadmin is joomla 1.5 based and I want to put in in my new database, witch has another name and its based on joomla 1.7, how can I make this work? Its a pretty big database (400 users) and it would be a shame to loose it!

Could you tell me what changes I need to preform?
