No I didnt. Perhaps I should have loaded sample data? I'm finding it very frustrating.
Which version of CB are you using with Joomla 2.5?
After reading more on this site, I wonder if I need to pay for Professional membership to be able to download the correct version of cb for joomla 2.5?

Your issue is not CB related, it is related to the migration you did which went wrong somewhere.

You can verify this by installing CB 1.7.1 on a clean Joomla 2.5.1 site and see that the problems you are currently experiencing will not be present.

Yes, upgrading your membership will let you post on our support forums and we can try and help you.

However a migration process is not something easy and you really have to do your homework first and make sure everything you have on a Joomla 1.5 site (third party extensions, modules, plugins, CB plugins, etc) are Joomla 2.5 ready and that the jupgrade tool supports their migration.

I know its frustrating, but the Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5 process is not an upgrade its a migration and migrations are painful unfortunately.

i'm running (trying to) joomla 2.5.1

Your issue is not CB related, it is related to the migration you did which went wrong somewhere.

you're surelly right, that's why i'm trying to figure out what...
but error message 'please enter a valid username' is CB related, isn't it ?

i don't care about everything was on my site before migration, i only care about CB and Kunena.

i have a 3200 users comunity, not that much you'll say, but that's the only thing i really need to migrate, and this point seems successfull as users can login (through CB_Login)
only the registration is dead!

any more thought?

Well I visited your registration page and I see that there is no email address field on the form.

This is obviously an issue - which I do not know if its migration related or not.

Sorry I cannot provide any further insight on your issue.

My only suggestion is to start over.

Download latest jupgrade and do migration again from your J15 site.

@nant,
thank you for your interrest

Well I visited your registration page and I see that there is no email address field on the form.

this is a template related issue.
i've set the site to use official atomic joomla template, so you can (please) have a look again.
the registration form show the email address field and the username one seems to be ok also....
