upgrade from CB1.1 on J1.0.13 to current versions

I have a potential customer who has a database of 5000+ users on Joomla 1.0.13 CB1.1 who wants me to migrate them to a new site on the current versions of Joomla.

Is there an easy way to do this, or do I need to go to J1.5 then to 2.5?

He is only interested in preserving the basic details on the user details, the rest of the site is to be rewritten.

Any advice gratefully recieved

You first need to upgrade from CB 1.1 to CB 1.8 (instructions for this are in CB 1.8 readme files).

Then you need to migrate to J15 and then to J25.

Its a painful process - I cannot give further instructions.
Make sure you take backups.
