Multiple Welcome emails being sent

when an admin adds a new user it sends both the Joomla and CB welcome emails. running Jooomla 1.7.3 and CB 1.7.1. i keep seeing the guy saying to look in User - Joomla plugin for the setting to turn off that default message, but it doesn't exist in 1.7.3. i need a fix for this without hacking it.

You need to upgrade Joomla and CB.
