problem with user creation at backend

Hi,

I am attempting to create a new user via the CB administration but without choosing a password because I want the password emailed to the user.

Thing is, it just load & load & load until I eventually get a white screen, reloading give me the user list, the user appears there but as unapproved & unconfirmed although I selected approved & confirmed, email never get sent.

I attempted the same thing with the Joomla built in user administration and actually got the same result, I assume it have something to do with my mail function settings but I tried everything and it didn't work.

I am running Joomla 2.5.6 (Upgraded today from 2.5.4 & had the same issue before the upgrade) & CB 1.8 on my local computer using Wampserver.

I'd appreciate the help.

Do you have some special email service downloaded? Wamp won't send any emails by default.

I downloaded some sendmail package but I couldn't figure out how to get it working.
