"Fields validation in Admin" not working

I have set "Fields validation in Admin" to No, as there are some field that are required, but hidden on signup for certain groups.

When I try to edit someones profile from the backend, I still need to fill in the required fields.

I have searched all the forums and the solution is to turn the "Fields validation in Admin" to No, but this is not working for me. This is found in Community Builder / Configuration / User Profile.

Does anyone know what I can do so that the fields are not validated when editing and saving in the backend?

what does "for certain groups" mean?

I have Company subscriptions and Individual subscriptions. The "company" field is required for Companies, but not for Individuals. So when I go in to edit an individuals profile, I then need to fill in the "Company" field for them.

I should be able to edit the individual profile, without being asked to fill in the "Company" field.

"Fields Validation in Admin" is set to No, but I am still asked to put in a value.

how are you handling subscriptions?

Subscriptions are handled through CB Subs.

Any thoughts on this?
