Trouble integrating cb contacts component

When I turn on the component I receive this message: Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/legendso/public_html/administrator/components/com_cbcontact/admin.cbcontact.php on line 221

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare quoted_printable_encode() in /home/legendso/public_html/libraries/bitfolge/vcard.php on line 74

the component also says it is not compatible with 1.5 and use legacy mode--which I am.

Can someone offer advice.
