Email Log File

Is there a log somewhere in Joomla 2.5 where I can see if emails are successfully sent out?

I have a joomla 2.5 website with a community builder and virtuemart setup. Every now and then a new user doesn't get the email activation email and I'd like a way to check if it did in fact go out.

nope - no such log is kept.

Not that I know of.

So what debug method do you use when a user doesn't get an email confirmation? I have it set up to make sure their email is valid, so before they can use the site they need to click on the link sent to them in the email. Its a virtuemart site so I need to know email communication works.

Any suggestions?

Test with an email address you control.
If the email get through then things are working just fine in the code- since the code does not discriminate valid email addresses.

This means that email was sent from script and if someone is complaining then something has happened on their end - maybe their email server rejected or maybe email is actually in their spam folder.
