CB upgrades to 1.9 but module upgrades fail to blank page

CB upgrades to 1.9 but module upgrades fail to blank page was created by dfirsching
On Joomla 2.5.9 (recent upgrade from 2.5.8), upgrading CB from 1.8.1 to 1.9 went successfully for comprofiler, but each of the module upgrades failed to a blank page and are left at 1.8.1.

Suggestions? Thanks!
