I'm looking for a plugin that will allow me to create complex fields but I've been unable to find one.
As standard, you can create new fields of many types, all of which I would describe as "column" fields. They are just a column on the standard database table. But I need to create fields on other linked tables, so that they can have as many as they need.
Our specific implementation is for a sailing club. A membership includes all family members so we need another table with the details of each family member, linked to the profile. We also need another table listing all of the boat details (model, colour, berth, etc) because each member can have multiple boats.
At the moment we've done a bit of a fudge and we just have all of the boat fields in the database 5 times (numbered 1-5), so members can have up to 5 boats, and the same with family members. This is obviously not good database design and is going to create more work when someone has too many boats or too many family members.
Is there a generic complex field/table field plugin like this?
