How To create About Me tab with text input or editor

I am trying to create About Me tab in profile where the registrant can create a text area with their information about them.

I created a Tab and a field but it does not give me an area to input text.

You have to make sure that the "Type" in the field management is either "Text Area" or "Editor Text Area" (if you want more control in editing). Once done, in the profile edit, under that tab, you will see the text area. Cheers.
