i Know this is an old tread but i had the same problem. I found that it was an error in the jomsef database. It had multiple profile entries that included users that were ether deleted or modified. If you are in the act of creating a new website, you need to purge the jomsef or disable it while making changes. it seems jomsef is not updating data in real time. The lag in updating the DB is causing the problem.
I purge the jomsef records when i have a problem with the site and all is well afterwards. I just added this to the steps of what is done when adding or modifying content on my site.
Hope this helps.

your very welcome..
I have been using CB for 8 years. Some times were good some not so good but the not so good was just a mater of waiting for a fix or update. i have tried other software witch i wont mention here. and always come back to CB. Within the total scope it is the most stable. Also most of the problems i have had was do to other extension breaking CB.
I now keep a list with time and date of upgrades of all the extensions so when something goes south i can narrow down to what was changed at the time. It mostly is not a problem with CB.
