read your entire thread and you have provide zero information about your environment.

Example info that might help people wanting to help you:

Joomla version?
CB version?

On my Joomla 3.3.6 / CB 2.0.5 tests I have no problems having a . in my usernames.
The following user(s) said Thank You: sputum

i am using
Joomla 3.3.6 / CB 2.0.5

and i am not sure if the . ist really the problem..

No, it has nothing to do with the "." i am sorry. I created a dummy user without "." and it doesnt work either ;-(

Exactly how are you creating this dummy user and exactly what do you mean by "it doesnt work either".
