Instant Facebook Login extension no longer working since upgrade

Yes - CB has always been distributed with its own login module that must be used to trigger various events and workflows.

I am not sure what you are expecting.

CB has always distributed a CB Login module and we have always stated that CB should be used with the CB Login module.

CB 2.0 most likely now checks for an instance of the CB Login module and posts the message you saw if not found.

I guess you can create such an instance and publish it on a not for showing position in your template to fool this CB message, but I have no idea how this will influence your website.

You have purchased (?) a commercial add-on - Instant Facebook Login - please ask that commercial developer to give you a solution or to support the CB Login module.
