I recently updated from Joomla 3.10 to 4.x. Now the dashboard calls for an update of Community Builder.
But when I click "Update" I am brought to a page that recommends me to update from "Unknown" to 2.1.2:
"Installer - Install from Web
This plugin offers functionality for the 'Install from Web'
tab. appscdn.joomla.org/webapps/jedapps/webinstaller.xml
docs.joomla.org/Install_from_Web "
Trying to run the update results in "Invalid extension update"
Now (some hours later) the CB Update recommendation is replaced by the following text "Warning Update: :Extension: Could not parse appscdn.joomla.org/webapps/jedapps/webinstaller.xml "
What is wrong? What can I do?

Normally you would have needed to updated to CB before updating Joomla. Your current version isn't Joomla 4 compatible.

Within System > Extensions try unpublishing Community Builder. Once done download the latest CB build from our downloads page below then install it.

www.joomlapolis.com/downloads

Once done try publishing Community Builder again. That might force the upgrade process otherwise you may need to restore a backup and be sure all your extensions are up to date before you do a migration.

I believe that I have done just that. I have migrated from 3 -> 4 -> 5 and is now on Joomla 5.1.4 and CB 2.9.3.

Is it sending you to Joomla's install from web page? If so it just sounds like Joomla's install from web update sites cache was not cleared when migrating. Within System > Updates > Update Sites try clicking the "Rebuild" button and see if your issue goes away.

Today I reverted back to Joomla 3.10. I verified that everything was properly updated, including CB.
So I migrated to Joomla 4.4.8 and checked the update page. There were a few suggestions, but none for CB.
But on top of the "Extensions Update" page it says:
"Update: :Extension: Could not parse appscdn.joomla.org/webapps/jedapps/webinstaller.xml ".
So, now I am doubly positive that CB was properly updated before the migration.
Re-building CB was successful ("Update sites have been rebuilt from manifest files.")
(But is seems that that added Kunena to the update page. I had disabled Kunena before migrating as per the pre-update check).
Extensions manager gives me green checkmarks for all Community Builder related Items, and version no 2.9.3. (as in J3.10?)
So updating to 5.x should be safe now?

Yes, sounds like your update went fine this time and can now migrate to Joomla 5.
