Migrating over from Jomsocial was created by VQustom
I saw another old thread where a user asked if there was a migrator from Jomsocial to CB, and it appears that there is not. This is too bad, because I thought I had seen that one existed before I purchased CB. I have a handful of sites that use Jomsocial, and any tips or experiences on bringing Jomsocial data into CB would be greatly appreciated! These things at least would be a good start:
  1. Profile types
  2. User fields
  3. Users
  4. Group categories
  5. Groups
Anyone...? Bueller...?

We've no migration functionality from JomSocial. We're not in a position to subscribe to all these other extensions to write migration plugins for them. We've asked in the past for full database export of a sample site so we can at least try to write some SQL migrations for some basic profile data, but was never provided it.

I understand how offering a package for general use would be difficult to maintain and not get used that often. Are you able to do custom solutions for a fee?

A custom migration solution? Possibly. I've never used JomSocial so am not familiar with its data or file storage structure. That'd likely mean 1-2 weeks of dedicated development time and would be quite expensive. Most data might be able to migrate exclusively with some database queries I'd guess. You can request a quote using our contact form below as this would be a more private conversation to be had.
