Basically, there was a project to do something similar but it seems that they are now focussing on other things at the moment.

I know that a lot of CB users want a decent invite system, and a lot of people are willing to pay for it. What I am suggesting is that a few of us get together to put up the cash for either this project to be completed, or to hire a developer from joomlancers.com to do the job for us.

For those who don't know what I mean, what we are looking for is an import script integrated into a component/ CB plugin. For an example of an invite import script take a look at www.iplussoft.com/buy.php .

The plan is to release this to the CB community afterwards. But the component should be made in such a way that users still have to download the script used, paying for it, so that copyright isn't infringed.

If anyone is interested in this, please post here :)

as per my discussion later with Switch, I am up for this project. For the ones who are willing to join us, then post here. When we are a good number, we'll then look for someone over joomlancers.com unless anyone knows a good developer.

Hi

Found another contact importer which you guys might want to support as well.
Very similar to iplussoft's, but also supports Lycos mail and a couple of others.

From the website, it seems pretty to integrate to, and code's pretty clean.
