OpenSocial

OpenSocial will not be in the very next CB version which will be in beta in a matter of days now, but we hope that for the next major release, it will be supported.

Any hints which version of Joomla (1.0.13, 1.5, or both) that Open Social API will be implemented?

One upgrade and we have access to millions of other community users! Sound pretty good!

Probably in CB 2.0...which will run on all supported joomla and mambo platforms.

Now most social sites don't support yet OpenSocial in production, and even OpenSocial API itself is not yet stable. so we are talking here no less than 4-6 months horizon, and probably more.

But perspectives are interesting

i mean, apache is also developing this on their level, where they call it Shindig ...

opensocial is based on the google gadgets api, which itself is still very flakey (at least the implementations are, see for instance the ning.com gadgets)

maybe what we need is a general opensocial gadget container implementation for Joomla (possible using shindig and/or CB ) .

any thoughts? should that become joomla gadget modules, or rather a component, or even gadget bots?
