Well Kunena is the new Fireboard fork or you can call it Fireboard 1.0.5 continuation by original 1.0.5 version developer - Fxstein and his team. All the information about it here - www.kunena.com/

It's already intergrated with Community builder, but community builder needs to have Tabs for user posts in Kunena. If someone would make this intergration it would be really awesome.

could the CB team modify the default forum plugin to include support for this now.

It seems that there is a lot of support and drive behind this component now as the successor to fireboard.

Or conversely develop a separate CB plugin for Kunena
