CBSubs for our Diving Club? was created by fribse2011
We're considering implementing your CBSubs for our Diving Club.
Before doing so, I wanted to find out how much of our requirements that your system can fullfill.

We have four types of memberships
Senior
Junior
Support
Family

Family is a special type, that includes more than one user.
All memberships follows the calendar year.
People can sign up in each quater, and until the end of the year, there are specific rates for each quarter (ie. people sign up in june for the rest of the year, or october for the rest of the year).

Renewals of memberships are due in November (so that a user renews eg. for 2014, payment is due in Nov. 2013).

Payments are done via bank transfer (manuel in your system I guess).

Reminders are to be sent out before the renewal, and reminders for missing payments should also be sent out, access is to be removed in january if payment is not done.

We're using Community Builder and Acymailing currently, and would of course like to keep these two components, unless their function can be replaced.

I hope you can give us some clarification if your component can help us out.

Best regards

Will try and address below ...

We have four types of memberships
Senior
Junior
Support
Family

You can create as many CBSubs plans as possible.
You would have to decide in plans are exclusive or not.
E.g. If these 4 plans are markes as exclusive then only one can be active at any given time for a specific user.

Family is a special type, that includes more than one user.

There is no such feature in CBSubs - you would need to manually handle this somehow in your offline site processes.

All memberships follows the calendar year.

Plans can be calendar year based and you can specify the calendar start day (e.g., Apr 1st instead of Jan 1st).

People can sign up in each quater, and until the end of the year, there are specific rates for each quarter (ie. people sign up in june for the rest of the year, or october for the rest of the year).

You should be able to setup an automatic promotion to handle this. Might be tricky but there is such a feature - not sure if the granularity you want is configurable though.

Renewals of memberships are due in November (so that a user renews eg. for 2014, payment is due in Nov. 2013).

So your calendar year ends in November?

Payments are done via bank transfer (manuel in your system I guess).

CBSubs supports offline payments.

Reminders are to be sent out before the renewal, and reminders for missing payments should also be sent out, access is to be removed in january if payment is not done.

You can program mailer items to send any reminders you want.

By default a subscription is not activated until the payment is confirmed.
You can change this to automatically activate subscription when subscription request is made (and not wait for payment to be confirmed), but then you woulf have to manually remove the subscription if payment is not received.

We're using Community Builder and Acymailing currently, and would of course like to keep these two components, unless their function can be replaced.

I hope you can give us some clarification if your component can help us out.

CBSubs GPL and AcyMailing work nicely together and the latest CB Auto Actions just released now supports AcyMailing actions.

Hope this helps.

Ok, that's not too much of a problem, can I 'attach' it to a user (so he/she gets reminders)?

All memberships follows the calendar year.

No, that's the tricky part, people have to get a payment notification, and the procedure for reminders have to start there, their memberships aren't valid until January.

Ok, so your component, or rather, as I read it closer, CB plugin, can actually handle quite a lot of our requirements, that sounds very interesting.

When does your calendar year start and end?

You can send reminders whenever you want actually (mailer configuration).

You can manually give someone a subscription from backend.

Calendar year is 1/1 -> 31/12
But payment for next year renewals are due in november, as we have to pay our organization a fee for each member, and that payment is due on the 15'th of January, so as not to stretch the volunteer workforce too much, we decided that people had to pay a bit earlier.

So people can renew next years membership early then.
You can configure this also (renewal in advanced setting).

You can also schedule any reminder messages you want (so you can send all existing members a message in November that they can renew for next year).
