Question about Profiles, Photos and Articles

This is simple and it blows my mind that Joomla doesn't do this natively.

I want users to be able to upload a phone when they register OR when then edit their profiles and when they create an article I want the photo inserted along with the author info (author name and article published date).

Can the current version of CB do this and do it simply without bogging my site down? I hear that that CB is very heavy and very intrusive.

Doable in CB just fine.

We also have a free author name link plugin (free download area) that links Joomla article author names back to author CB profile.
