CBSUBS fonctionnalities was created by gtrennert
Hello,
I'm just checking if cbsubs would be good for my clients demands :
I read that : Membership subscription level dependent products and services
At register time the user will choose if he's a man or a woman - woman do not have to pay anything (at this time) so it must be a free subscription for them - a man will have a normal subscription plan. Is this possible ?
And is there a way that the user can't modify gender by editing his profile ?
Is there a more detailed documentation of CBSUBS features ?
Thanks a lot !

Yes, you can optionally show/hide during registration time or later specific subscription plans based on CB field values. So a gender radio field in CB can be used to handle your use case.

All CB fields that are marked as readonly cannot be changed after the registration form.

Thanks for your reply

All CB fields that are marked as readonly cannot be changed after the registration form.

But if they are read only they cannot be filled on registration time or did I miss something ?

Another question is that I don't clearly understand what I'm buying :
If I take the DEVELOPER membership for 383 € it seems to contain CBSub with :
- providing subscriber-only content behind a ‘paywall’ by charging for access
- support almost any imaginable subscription scenario
- easy checkout
And I suppose that I pay once the 383 € and I can use all this forever

Is this all that I need ?

But then what is CBSubs GPL Subscriptions plugin for 177 € ?
- sell membership subscriptions and merchandise items to your site members
- comes with 23 integration plugins and 17 payment processors gateways.
And it is marked 1 year : does this mean that I have to pay 177 € every year ???

Please can you give me relly detailed informations because we have to decide for what solution we are going !

I thought this was clear.

If a field is read-only it cannot be changed after registration.
During registration - even read-only fields that are included on the registration page can be filled out by user on the registration page.

Please note that this is a CB feature and has nothing to do with CBSubs.

Yes, a Developer subscription gives you a one year subscription to everything offered on Joomlapolis (including professional add-ons, CBSubs and templates).

Please see/read description here:

www.joomlapolis.com/memberships

and tell me if something is not clear.

Also everything offered on Joomlapolis is GPL licensed.

This means that what you download you can install on all your websites even the ones you create after your subscription expires.

Everything will continue to work - even after your subscription expires.

You will just not be able to download new updates or get support if your subscription expires.

This is clearly also described here (please let me know if this needs further improvement):

www.joomlapolis.com/support/faq/105-presales/18494-paid-membership-questions

Is this all that I need ?

If you only need CBSubs, then you can just purchase a CBSubs 1 year membership (instead of purchasing a Developer membership to get everything as stated before).

Once again - you are not required to renew every year - this is totally up to you to decide.

You can renew in the future if you need a new update or support.

Hello - Finally I took the dev membership and try now to understand cbsubs
It will take some time to understand allthis stuff - there are a lot of things.
But let me explain my use case and perhaps you can help me have a better undertanding :

At this moment there will be only 2 plans - one paid for men - another free for women
In an ideal world the plan should be choosen in the registration process, but until the user selects the gender I cannot know which plan to propose

Perhaps the step by step registration with cb conditional could help me there :
by proposing the gender field in the first step, and the in the second step conditionnally display the plan corresponding to the gender (but at this moment I can't figure out howto do this - I have posted another question about this)

or perhaps there are other possible solution I'm not aware of.

Could you please give me some hints ?
