I am setting up a site were the ACL of J1.6 will be used. It is a autoclub and the members should have more access than non-members.

A few of the CB-stuff will be limited to non-members, one such thing is connections. You have to be a clubmember to be able to make connections.

In the Tab-settings I can set the permission so that only members can access that. So far so good.

But in the CB Menu the choice "Manage Your Connections" is still visible even if you don't have permissions for this. Wouldn't it be expected that this menu choice is disabled when a user don't have access to it. It will be confusing for the users it the menu is there but they can't do anything when that tab opens up.

Or... have I missed something?

The CB Menu link for connections is not conditional based off the tab. It's only condition check is if the user is registered and if you've connections enabled in CB configuration.

Additionally tab permissions has no affect on managing, adding, accepting connections. Notice even with connection tab set to Moderators your registered users can still access and manage their connections. This also applies to the connections plugin, it has no affect on actual connections usage; just the tab.

Can that be a feature request then for upcoming versions?

Setting permissions to the tab will at least making it a little bit more difficult then.

We've a feature ticket in place to actually rework the entire connections system. Doubt such a feature will make next release, but certainly will make CB 2.0 as many improvements are planned.
