[SOLVED] CB Delimiter Fields was created by clickmo
After taking a look at the substitution tutorials, I figured I'd see if I could get a tab showing inside of a field.

The result works, kind of.

I'm not sure if it was designed that way or not, which is why I'm posting to ask: When using substitutions, displaying a tab inside of a field, are titles always set to hide?

I'm using:
[cb:if user="#me" usertype="Registered"][cb:usertab tab="29" user="#displayed" /][/cb:if]
inside of a Delimiter Field.

It displays the contents of tab 29, but only the values. None of the titles for the fields set to appear in that tab show up. Each of the fields were set to show title. If I am to display the tab without substitution, I see the titles for every field.

Is this a bug, or works as intended?

are titles always set to hide?

Yes, substitutions will output the ran tab contents. Tab title display and such is done by the profile it self to render tab positions properly. Using substitution gives you just the contents of the tab.

It displays the contents of tab 29, but only the values. None of the titles for the fields set to appear in that tab show up. Each of the fields were set to show title. If I am to display the tab without substitution, I see the titles for every field.

That's a bit different, field titles should show for a tab being rendered with a substitution assuming those fields titles are set to be displayed. What exactly is tab 29? A custom tab with fields on it? How have you set profiles to display? Tab or DIV based? Please see CB configuration followed by user profile tab and change display to DIV if not done so yet.

Tab 29 is a Community Builder Tab with the following settings:

Published: Yes
Profile Ordering: 0
Registration Ordering: 10
Position: Not displayed on profile 1
Display Type: Div with Title
User Group to allow access to: Everybody

This tab contains 5 Fields. The fields are: text, pb_profile_rating, myrating, text, webaddress

Each field has

Display field title in Profile?: Yes

When testing the tab without substitution I see the Field titles just fine. When testing with substitution, field titles don't show up.

Have reviewed your install and the substitution was using raw formatting. In order to display it as a formatted tab you must pass an additional parameter of formatting="divs". Appending this to your tab substitution has resolved your issue. Please note this is covered within the tutorials within my signature regarding substitution usage.
