When I set up CB, I had to set up a link on my main menu to comprofiler. I did not want to show that link to the general public, however, I would like a link to:http://www.vetsinpain.org/user-profile/login. (I would rather not have the login on my front page) I would rather people have to go to this specific page to login. How do I set this up? Also, when I select "user profile" as menu item type, it changes to "user logout action" when the joomla "select a menu item type" screen goes back to the menu manager "edit menu item type" screen

Create a new menu type of "Hidden". Once done place your CB menu link on that menu type and simply don't publish the module associated with that menu type. The module for the menu does not need to be public or publish; just the menu link it self needs to be.

Simply create a menu link to the login page, this is a sub-item of the CB menu seen when creating a Joomla menu link to CB.
Also, when I select "user profile" as menu item type, it changes to "user logout action" when the joomla "select a menu item type" screen goes back to the menu manager "edit menu item type" screen
Known issue with Joomla 1.6.
