We are in the process of creating a site using Community Builder, CB Subs and Group Jive for school children and teachers.

To protect the children we have a registration process where the primary email that authenticates the membership goes to the parent/guardian email address.

To control the number of identities that one person can have the system is currently set to allow only one email address. The issue then arises of parents with two or more children not being able to register unless they have more than one email address.

The target age range of the children is primary school - Age 7-11. Is there a way to raise but still control the number of registrations from the same email address to say 3? Or is there a much better way around this issue?

Joomla limits won't allow more than one account per email address. Probably the easiest way around it would be to have the parents make a separate email address for each child. Most ISPs allow multiple email addresses or they can make new email addresses for free through one of several free email providers.

You can also search the forums for other posts, since this issue has been addressed before and there may be additional suggestions.

Rapunzl reply is spot on. You can't have multiple accounts with the same email address. You'll need to hack Joomla (and possibly CB) core code to do this, which we can not assist with. You're welcome to search here and possible Joomla.org for possible solutions however as believe some users have done this.
