CB 1.7 Joomla 1.6.6
having created a new User group 'specialmembers' under 'Registered', when I try to include an existing member in this group [member currently in 'registered' group] i get a white page with address bar showing /administrator/index.php ...
Please enable debug mode and maximum error reporting within site configuration. Once done attempt to re-save the user with a new usergroup and provide the on-screen fatal errors displayed (please do not provide query log at bottom of page).

Fatal error: Class 'JMailHelper' not found in mysite.com/libraries/joomla/database/table/user.php on line 179
this error occurs with any chnage in user group, including the default ones [superuser tested]
I notice that the email and username checks that run [though I have them disabled in cb config] show 'error'; other user edits have shown this 'error' but have not caused this fatal white page error
It now appears that ANY user edit in the back end or front end [edit profile] causes this error

A little closer look at the installation reveals that there was no 'mail' folder in the libraries/joomla directory; no idea how this happened but I have uploaded it from the package and it is now working ...
