Changing Background colors & fonts on profile page

13 years 4 months ago #175252 by bruceisaacson
Hi I recently purchased ProfilePro from joomduck so that I could give my members a more organized & unique social network experience. I have been changing the font & background colors to match the website, and I was doing quite well, until I got to the display pane for the menu bar. I am having trouble finding the file where I would change that CSS information. Can you help?

Also there appears to be another display pain that I need to change in the center of the page and I cannot find that one either. My site name is www.waasapi.com . if you go to any of the profile pages in artist search you will see what I am trying to explain to you.

For my next question, I am not sure what proper etiquette is in this forum, so I'm not sure whether I should create another post, but this is relative to ProfilePro, because one of the reasons that I went that profile software is when I did a search for HTML field, their company came up with a product which I am no longer able to find in the search. What I need is a field that will allow my members to copy and paste HTML code, but will also allow me to control the content of the code and/or the the access level. Right now, I have my subscription members access level set at publisher. I would like to lower their access level to at least author. This particular issue if I can resolve it with that particular HTML field, would allow me to do so.

Any input about these two particular problems would be sincerely appreciated.
Sincerely yours, Bruce Isaacson

We are not the developers of CB ProfilePro. You'll need to contact them for support. Their extension drastically alters CBs display and I've no idea how their source is setup for profile views so wouldn't know where to begin to suggest CSS changes. I can suggest that you place all your CSS at the bottom of your Joomla template CSS file.

Hi I have actually found where all that is, I will research your suggestion as far as where I put the code. To be clear are you saying that it is wrong to change the Hex color codes and instead write the code in, at the bottom of the Joomla! CSS file.
Reference: in the documentation for My Community Template it is suggested that the manipulations of CSS Code could be approached by making changes directly to the source code.
Please bare with I'm a novice but I'm having pretty good results so far and I'm just trying to do things right while also trying to take some pressure off my other Developers as far as there time constraints go. Thank Bruce

You can change CBs template or place it at the bottom of your Joomla template CSS file, whichever works best for you is suggested. Just keep in mind if you edit CBs template and upgrade CB then your changes will be lost. It's suggested to create a new CB template or adding the CSS to your Joomla template so that won't happen.
