All caching should be implemented from server side. Site based caching always results in out of date data and causes problems. The performance gain is typically very minimal with site side caching. At any rate if you're going to use caching please ensure you're only using Joomla cache (most if not all 3rd parties will cause issues.. likewise for SEF), are not caching the login module (CB has no parameter to even enable caching, but maybe Joomla is forcing it), and have set the cache time to something reasonable (3-5 mins?). You may also want to try allowing Joomla to use browser caching (edit the Joomla system plugin Cache).
