Time out on Plans? was created by mike5151
Hi

Joomla 1.5.23
CB 1.7
CB Subs 1.2.2

I am in the process of migrating my customers onto various subscription plans.

To make life easier for them I have been logging into our site as them, completing their registrations for them and selecting the plans that apply, which saves multiple individual instructions.

I stop at the payment page and then log out. My plan being that this then leaves the Subscription Payment Page as the opening page that they will see when they log back on encouraging them to complete the order and make the payment.

I have tested this and all seems to be OK except that at some point the order information 'times out' and the subscription details that I had previously selected no longer show.

1. Is this an intentional behaviour?
2. If it is then please let me know how I can control the 'time out' parameter.

Kind regards

Mike

I believe pending baskets are removed after some time.

OK - thank you.

Can you point me to where that parameter is controlled?

Kind regards

Mike

1. It is intentional
2. Front-end timeout by user is currently fixed at 3 hours and in backend admin times out all unused baskets automatically by accessing CBSubs main page after 24 hours.

Those values are currently fixed in code and not parameters, as I didn't see an use case for changing them (and we already have lots of parameters...).

But have added it as FR for a following CBSubs release.
Can't tell for which release it's going to be as demand is low for that feature. So PM me if it's urgent, as it's easy to add.

Hi Beat

Thanks for your answer - I agree that a time-out is necessary and if you were setting up a site and plans from scratch then there would be no need to change things - and you surely do have a lot of parameters already!

However, when you are reverse engineering a situation where you have a lot of existing clients to migrate, then just being able to advise the time-out limits would be helpful - perhaps another chapter to add to the excellent documentation?

I will take you up on your offer and PM you shortly.

Kind regards

Mike
