OK I'll explain again. This post started as a discussion with customer service. They told me to continue the post in the forums. I (mistakenly thought) that I was still speaking with the same people.

The problem is that I cannot upgrade to CB 1.7.1.
I currently have CB 1.4 installed with J 1.6.5. This is working fine.

I upgrade to J 1.7.2 and that is OK
Then I uninstall com_comprofiler - OK
Install CB 1.7.1 - OK
Re-install old administrator/components/com_comprofiler/ue_config.php
Then I go to CB configuration and SAVE the configuration. Here I get a 404 Internal Server Error

Sorry for this - just trying to understand based on all facts on this thread.

You should be able to just install CB 1.7.1 over your existing installation (no need to uninstall or touch the ue_config.php file.

Please try this (take backup first as a precaution).

I tried installing as you suggested - NO JOY.
I still get a 404 Internal Server Error
Field / Plugin / Tools tabs work OK - the rest of the tabs produce the 404 Internal Server Error.

For others perhaps following ...

Thanks for PM

CB 1.7.1 installation seems ok, but I do see the Internal server error when visiting the following CB areas:

CB Configuration
CB Fields
CB Tabs
CB Users

no error is shown on:

CB Lists
CB Tools
CB Plugins

Is there any way for you to upgrade from Joomla 1.6.5 to 1.7.2 as Joomla 1.6 series is no longer supported.
