Hopefully next CBSubs with this fixed will be released way before December.

Your options could be to place users in Joomla ACL group and handle through there.

Hi nant, while waiting for your fix, I've tried the ACL approach. Question now is whether CBSubs and Joomla users will be automatically sync when a user subscribes. It does not make sense to have to manually link them to the ACL group one at the time every time one person subscribes. Then that will defeat the purpose of having a sub module right? Please advise if there's a way to configure auto sync for plans to ACL group. Thanks. (Of course, the best solution to fix the issue or at least get a patch that works)
