I just upgraded to GJ 2.4 since I was getting an error in Auto Actions (figured GJ being older was the problem, error is now gone at least), now my previously hidden-by-GroupJive Kunena forum/category is public for all to see.

Do I have to remake the categories/forums in GJ and move the old posts to the new forum?

It's a bug in GJ 2.4, fixed for next release already. Some issues with forum permission checking.
